My school friend Daryl rang me up after there performance of Annie and said that the G string had broken on the last show.
She arranged for me to do 5 pianos that need tuning around Howden.
So off I set on wed on a bright sunny morning to Howden the first piano was a Yamaha U3 up on stage. Took the top door off and found that there were two strings that had broken. Replaced these and tuned it.
The next piano was down stairs looked at this. The top C string had broken replaced this then tuned it.
Then went and had lunch with Daryl. Before tuning her piano and found another broken string F near the middle had to get a hexacore string out and made this up to fit this was the forth string for the day.
Then on to Lesley piano a jhon broadwood I opened this one up and didt believe it another string gone this one in the bass another hexacore string out to cut down and make up.
The last piano was a Kemble but there were no strings broken on this.
On average you would expect to change a broken string 1 in a 100 pianos.
